Information for candidates

The call for application to PhD programmes XXXI Cycle - Academic Year 2015/2016  is now online. Deadline: May 29th, 2015 h. 1.00 p.m. (local time).

Admission to the PhD program is based on examination, which takes place in the fall (for courses starting the following January). The examination will evaluate both the background and the potential for research of the candidate. All candidates are evaluated on their curriculum, statement of purpose (brief research project), and letters of reference. The admission committee will short-list some of the candidates, who will be asked to attend an oral interview. For Italian candidates this is an in-person oral examination. For foreigners, the interview can take place with other means (e.g., video conference on Internet).

Applications must be completed on-line on http://studenti.unibo.it by May 29th, 2015 h. 1.00 p.m. (local time). Further information on application, including the call can be found here.

Please check regularly the PhD programme table of interest for changes may occur (highlighted in yellow, e.g. in the number of positions and scholarships, dates of examinations, etc.).

More information about the application are available in the call. In order to avoid problems due to the overload of the system, it is highly recommended not to wait  until the last  moment to submit the application.

After the deadline, modifications of the application forms and/or payment of the participation fees will not be possible. The online form will be available for consultation only.

If you have already an idea of your research area, it could be a good idea to contact in advance a member of the faculty of the Department of Computer Science and Engineering doing research on that topic. Reference letters are of paramount importance.

At the end of the evaluation procedure, the scores assigned to the applicants by each Admission Board will be published on http://studenti.unibo.it and could also be available at the Department premises where the examinations took place.
